The traditional, cosy and homely Bernese Oberland family hotel where every guest from near and far immediately feels at home.

In the heart of the Schnitzler village of Brienz am See, in the old part of the village with its unique wooden chalets and village lanes (Brunngasse), with the marvellous water and mountain world experience and direct access to the lake promenade. The Brienzerburli is known far and wide. The hotel's own patisserie with home-made biscuits, nut tarts, chocolates and other specialities.

84 hotel beds: all rooms are equipped with bath/shower, toilet, telephone, radio, television, safe, wireless internet and are non-smoking rooms.

History

At your service for 50 years and into the future

Our ancestors lived mainly from farming and woodcarving. According to oral tradition, the property "uf der Mur" (field name for the Brienzerburli property) has been in the family since 1520. On 1 January 1975, Peter Huggler Sr. and his wife Edith, who died in 1994, took over the "Brienzerburli" property from his parents. At the time, the "Brienzerburli" consisted of a bakery, tea room and three guest rooms. Their aim was to turn the Hotel Brienzerburli property in Aenderdorf into a modern, cosy hotel and restaurant business. in 1991, the Löwen property was acquired, and in 2009 a half of the house neighbouring the Brienzerburli: the "Swisschalet". in 2011, the opportunity arose to acquire the traditional Weisses Kreuz and, shortly afterwards in 2015, the Bistro Rothorn.

Today, Hotel Brienzerburli GmbH employs around 50 people in summer and consists of two hotels with a total of 130 beds, three restaurants (with a capacity of around 400 indoor and 200 outdoor seats) and the Bistro Rothorn as a daytime business and takeaway.

All floors in the Brienzerburli are accessible by lift and are therefore also suitable for people in wheelchairs. We also have a barrier-free shower and WC on the floor.

Lakeside restaurant Löwen

Our second house, the Löwen, is located directly on the lake and has three flats and two standard double rooms. One flat offers space for four people: two double rooms, a living room and a bathroom/WC. Ideal for families with children.

Weisses Kreuz

The traditional establishment in the centre of Brienz. For a stay in the hotel, a drink at the bar, a coffee, croissant or snack in our restaurant or on the terrace, for lunch or dinner, a festive menu or plated service... The Kreuz is always the right place for you.
